I am both a musician and a luthier. I studied double bass performance, receiving a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. During the years of my study, I also learned instrument maintenance, repair, and studied furniture design. This sparked my passion for luthiery.

Since completing my degrees, I studied in Cremona, Italy, at the Academia Cremonensis. I have been performing maintenance on instruments and bows for over ten years, and performing on bass for thirteen. I have always had a great love for both music and woodworking, and believe that appears in my violin making.
